The act of creating a self-portrait has always been more than the attempt to capture a likeness. It is an inquiry into identity, memory, and the shifting space between how we see ourselves and how the world perceives us.
Self Portraits brings together a diverse group of artists whose practices span painting, drawing, photography, installation, and performance. Each work becomes both a revelation and a mask, confronting vulnerability, projecting power, or distilling fleeting states of being into form.
Featuring Ranelle Dial, Ciane Xavier, Jane Cuevas, Zuh Dai, Joyce Ignacio, Wyndelle Remonde, Jared Yokte, Romeo Lee, Frances Abrigo, Frelan Gonzaga Lourd De Veyra, Kiko Escora, and ESL Chen, the exhibition presents self-portraiture not as a fixed image but as a continuous negotiation of presence.
Whether intimate or confrontational, playful or raw, these works expand the tradition of self-portraiture into a collective conversation. Together, they remind us that to portray the self is also to confront the passage of time, the politics of representation, and the fragile pursuit of truth in art.
